DAY 28 SATURDAY

"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move."
-Robert Lewis Stevenson

The end of a full four weeks on the road. With a few exceptions that means everyday on the bike putting on miles and seeing this great country. Every single bit has been enjoyable, we have seen great places and met some of the nicest people all over the US. I haven't really been keeping track but I heard Al say that we are over 9000 miles and still have about 3000 to go.

I miss my family and would love to see them but I am in no hurry to end this trip, I wake up every morning and look forward to pointing the bike down the road.

Today we rode along side one river or another the entire day, crossing the Continental Divide sometime before lunch. The rest of the day was spent in the mountains with snow on the peaks and cooler air.

Day 29, Sunday May 20th.

Woke up this morning with big plans for the day. Check on Jeff, brunch with grandma, Science Center to look at dead bodies. Started out by jumping on 35th Ave. with the wheels pointed south. Rode for about 6 long miles in the baking heat to the Roseberry house. Jeff was doing well, so we grabbed G-ma and headed off to brunch. After about 2 miles on the road, we found a little place called Old Country Buffet. We had a bit of a scare when we found out there was only 10 minutes left for breakfast, but all turned out okay.

Back on the road and after some twists and turns we hit the I-17 southbound. 15 miles later we were at the science center ready for Body Worlds. Had a good time looking at the dead people, then back on the blacktop. Another tough 20 miles or so and we were pooped. Holed up in the Batycki residence and took a nap (after all that driving we needed it). Not much else for today. Tomorrow we split up, Genna heading south, while I head east toward the rising sun. Makes me think of that Bob Seger song "Gotta keep rollin, gotta keep ridin'."

Well, that's how life is back home. Take care.

And you wonder why I call him "CJ"!!!! (Chuck Jr. for those of you who can't figure that out.)

Keep enjoying being "outside the frame." Love you, Dad!

Ted,
That was hilarious! You know that Chuck is still "runnin' against the wind", always has and always will...
