Left Jonesboro after a quick stop at Harley dealer for a couple of parts then headed south. A check of the map showed Route 1 heading south just the way we were going. Close by was a road that only showed as light gray on the map but was lined with green dots (scenic per the atlas), a little longer, a little twistier and a whole lot more fun, route 163.
Eventually made our way through Memphis didn't stop since we were there a few years ago:
Walking in Memphis, walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale Marc Cohn
Continued east on highway 64 along the southern border of Tennessee. Passed through dozens of small towns, farms, and forests. A green dotted road all day under clear skies and cool enough for a jacket and light gloves all day.
In for the night in Pulaski TN a town of 7600 and the biggest we have seen since Memphis. Still eastward tomorrow.
I'm gonna get up in the mornin',
Gonna hit that Highway 49I'm gonna get up in the mornin',Gonna hit that Highway 49I'm gonna dust my blues, peoples,Leave this raggedy-ass town behind

Stop at the Harley dealer- check that off the list. =) Can't believe you are still finding little known scenic roads, yet that is the adventure.
